Why all the the angst, sarcasm and rage on the left over the “Birther Bill” (“H.R. 1503 – The Presidential Eligibility Act”)? Read the Government Printing Office certified copy of the bill for yourself and decide for yourself. It’s really a no-brainer: The Constitution requires that the President must be a natural born citizen, and the “Birther Bill” requires that he must prove it. How can anybody be against that?

The left would see the “Birther Bill” as a simple method to defuse a potent argument from the right – that President Obama does not meet the constitutional requirements to be President. Indeed, many on the left insist that President Obama has already easily satisfied this requirement (as asserted in the above video), so why not make it official? This would have the added political advantage for the left of a gigantic embarrassment for the right.
Something about opposition to this bill just doesn’t make sense.
